What is meditation
There are many forms of meditation including sitting still on a chair or a cushion, walking, and more dynamic movement. Some methods are goal oriented to achieve calm, a quiet mind, to relieve stress, to see the true nature of things, and to observe your patterns and behaviours, physical emotional and mental. Some are about concentrating on something like a mantra, the flame of a candle, or your breathing. Some meditations are just to sit and observe whatever arises both inner and outer without interfering and with no outcome in mind.
Most of us have noisy minds and busy lives and it can seem quite difficult just to find the time to practice. Whatever way suits you, a regular meditation practice can translate into supporting you in being more robust with the wear and tear of everyday life.
