Come and join our chanting community for ‘Journey Of The Heart ‘ – An evening of singing mantras to reconnect with your heart centre. No singing experience needed, everyone is welcome. We have a full 2 hours this time so we can dive deeper into this sacred practice ♥
About ?
Singing Mantras are from the path of Bhakti Yoga (yoga of devotion, pure love and compassion ….. especially for yourself) They produce healing vibrations which can take you out of your busy mind and connect to your heart, creating oneness with those around you and integrating your mind, body and spirit.
The invitation is to sing, meditate, dance or just bathe in the sound. In this space we let go of any limiting beliefs we may have around our own voice, singing from the heart and coming together as a sacred singing tribe ?
Where: Friends Meeting House, 49 Hutton Road, Shenfield.
When : 7.30-9.30pm, 21st August 2019
Exchange: Tickets in advance are £12+ booking fee via Eventbrite, or £15 on the door (in which case please FB message or email us to help manage numbers).
About Michelle ?
I thought I’d share a bit about my musical journey…. how I went from Opera / Musical Theatre to Kirtan and Sound Healing ??
I am a trained Opera Singer and studied at The Blackheath Conservatoire of Music, and performed in many Musicals, Operas, Operettas and Concerts in the UK and abroad. Some of my highlights were playing the title role of ‘Maria’ in West Side Story, and backing singing for Katherine Jenkins at the Millennium Stadium Cardiff.
When I saw Snatam Kaur live I felt inspired and drawn to the Bhakti path (yoga of devotion) and that’s where the seed for singing Mantras was planted. My career as a musician began by playing Piano, Harmonium, Djembe and Frame Drum at events for The Dancing Universe. A few years ago I had the wonderful opportunity to drum and backing sing for Kevin James during his UK tour, which is when my desire to sing Mantras and Chants became stronger. As well as leading my own chanting circles I’m excited to be part of the fantastic Bhakti Band ‘Sivani Mata & The Shakti Soul Family’, and the band ‘STIR’ for Fusion Yoga events.
In addition to being a Kirtan drummer for quite a few singers I have also sang at Christopher Hareesh Wallis’s Satsangs (India), all of which have been incredible experiences for me.
Alongside my drumming career I have led chanting circles in the UK and Holland, and sound healing events – both of which I love to share. My greatest achievement so far is composing and recording my first Mantra album called ‘Journey Of The Heart’. I love sharing my creative passions and taking my audiences on heart opening journeys of deeper connection within themselves.
